Meetings

The Stanmore P&C meets during school terms at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month in the staff room.

We are always joined by our Principal Hugh Miller, or by the Deputy Principal. They report on plans and changes concerning the school, Department guidelines and policies, school grounds and other school business.

Get involved

We acknowledge that there are many parents helping all over the school in many areas including class reading, driving children to chess and making clothes for Showcase and other performances. The school works well because of this active parent involvement.

If you are interested in playing an active role in the P&C just come along to a meeting and pay a gold coin donation. There are a number or sub-committees that always welcome new members or you can join the debate and share your views.

If you don't wish to be as directly involved we are always in need of volunteers to lend a hand running events. Keep an on the school newsletter, SNIP, for details on upcoming events and how to volunteer.

How P&C Funds Are Used

The money that the P&C raises is used to benefit all students and the whole school community.

In 2019 the P&C invested $40,000 to upgrade five interactive panels for classrooms and $20,000 towards the oval upgrade.

In 2018, the P&C invested $11,000 in school signage, $5,000 in playground equipment and markings, and $6,000 in a pot washer for the Canteen.

Each year the P&C also votes to donate funds to each teacher to enable them to buy resources and tools for their class in addition to the basics supplied by the Education Department. Each year the P&C donated funds totalling $14,000 to teachers.

The funds raised also go towards numerous other projects that help improve the school environment.

Fostering a Caring School Community

Along with raising money for the school and our children, the P&C is also a great way to engage with others and to foster a close and caring school community of parents, children and teachers. We are always keen to hear about any issues affecting your children as well as ideas for improving the school environment, activities for the school and new fundraising ideas that you may have in mind.
