Stanmore's SAKG program and Miss Dimitra, are on a sustainability mission to eliminate tinned tomatoes from the school kitchen and we need your help. We are asking Stanmore families to donate juicy ripe red tomatoes to the kitchen so we can make our very own supply of passata using Cornersmith's delicious recipe.

P&C Meeting Tuesday, December 12

P&C Meeting

The final P&C meeting of the year will be held in the school staff room on Tuesday, December 12 from 7pm.

Topics for discussion include the recent announcement about the closure of TASK in 2018, the proposed plans by OOSH to expand their service to accommodate families needing after-school care and how this will affect families currently on the OOSH waiting list and those currently using TASK.

40k School Zone to be Extended

We recently received a reply to our letter to Roads & Maritime Services requesting a 40k School Zone on Trafalgar St, between the school and the train station. Now for some good news! RMS has agreed to our request and is looking at other traffic calming measures as well. Thank you to Lynn Clift who kicked off the project with a Change.org petition, P&C secretary Caitlin Elliott who wrote the formal letters earlier this year, and Greg Lekosis who has been doggedly following it up every other day in recent months.

P&C Meetings

The next meeting of the P&C is Tuesday October 17 at 7pm in the staffroom. Everyone welcome!

At this meeting we will review the pros and cons of the P&C-run school canteen. The P&C took on the running of the Canteen in 2016 to ensure its transition to a healthy school canteen. If you are considering joining the P&C next year and/or wanting to be involved with running the canteen then you will want to be part of this discussion.

School Toilet Renovations

School Toilet Renovations

The toilet block renovation was completed during the school holidays. After many hours of hard work by both the contractor, SCI Projects and parent volunteers, we think the toilets look (and smell) amazing. We hope the kids enjoy their fresh new loos.

Thanks as always to our dedicated team of volunteers and to all parents that supported our 2016 fundraising efforts for this project. Our special thanks also go to Jono Hammond of Cobden & Hayson whose generous donation of $21,500 in 2016 contributed significantly to the renovation costs.
